Partially owing to the very real dangers of carrying out ground surveys in Myanmar at the time, our client to decided to use the DVG systems to select the most viable route for 75 km of gas pipeline. On this survey the route selection capabilities of the DVG system proved invaluable as the original route encountered a 30 m sheer cliff that was not apparent on existing mapping. The crew was able to survey a more feasible route that was selected in the field by a geotechnical engineer employed by the client. The survey covered over 100 km of pipeline corridor that varied from 200 m to 5000 m wide. |
